Annual awards step back and honor what defined the year. The two formats run concurrently, share the same voting methodology, and together turn recognition into a continuous, year round system rather than a single night.
Monthly awards
Monthly categories open a fresh cycle every month: nominations, public voting, Editorial Review where active, and winners, all inside the month's rhythm. They exist because internet culture moves faster than annual ceremonies. A song that defines March deserves recognition in March, not a vague mention the following winter.
Monthly wins are permanent records. Each closed cycle keeps its own archive page with its finalists, results, and, for combined cycles, the full score breakdown.
Annual awards
Annual categories honor sustained achievement across a full year. Not every category runs annually, and not every annual category has a monthly twin; each format exists where it makes sense for the industry it covers.
Monthly and annual awards are connected. Winning a monthly award carries a nominee into consideration for the corresponding annual honor, so the year end ballot is built on twelve months of recorded achievement rather than year end publicity. Annual categories that have no monthly counterpart run in focused windows of roughly four months, grouped into themed campaigns, so each industry gets a real spotlight instead of drowning in one giant ceremony.
How categories are created
Every category begins as a written definition: what it honors, its scope, its subject, its cadence, and its eligibility rules. That definition is permanent infrastructure, and each monthly or annual edition is an instance of it, which is why a category's standards stay identical from cycle to cycle.
New categories are added deliberately, industry by industry. The awards span Hollywood, the global music industry, Chinese entertainment, film and television industries around the world, sports, football, digital culture, regional entertainment, and more. A category launches when its definition, its About page, and its nominee pipeline are ready, never simply to fill a calendar.
How categories are managed
Each edition moves through a published lifecycle: nominations open, voting opens, voting closes, Editorial Review where active, and winners announced. Timelines appear on the award page, and status changes are visible to everyone at the same time.
Categories can also be retired or refined. When a definition changes in a meaningful way, the change appears on that category's About page, and past editions remain archived under the rules that governed them. The record is never rewritten.
