This charter is the constitution of the iFANN Awards. It records why the awards exist, what they honor, how authority is divided between fans, the Editorial Board, and platform staff, and the commitments iFANN makes to keep the process independent. Everything else the awards publish, from the voting methodology to the code of ethics, follows from this document.
Why the iFANN Awards exist
The internet changed entertainment permanently. There are more creators today than at any point in history, producing films, series, music, podcasts, videos, performances, writing, and art for audiences in every country. Some of that work becomes a global phenomenon; much of it inspires devoted communities that traditional institutions never see. A handful of legacy award shows, built for a smaller world, cannot recognize a creative culture this large.
The iFANN Awards were created to close that gap: a global awards system built for today's creative world, operating all year across industries, countries, cultures, and languages. The format is modern, but the ambition is not casual. The goal is not to lower the standard of the world's most respected awards. The goal is to modernize the process while keeping the standard.
What the awards reward
iFANN Awards honor genuine achievement and genuine connection with audiences: the work itself, its quality and craft, its impact during the award period, its cultural influence, and the professional accomplishment behind it. Monthly awards recognize what mattered now; annual awards recognize what defined the year.
The awards deliberately reach beyond the usual spotlight. Rising talent, veterans no longer chased by trophies, creators outside traditional industries, and work beloved by fans but overlooked by institutions are not edge cases here. They are the point.
Who decides what
Fans decide who matters. Public voting is open to everyone, determines which five nominees reach the final stage, and contributes 60 percent of every combined final score. No winner can emerge without fan support.
The iFANN International Editorial Board decides the editorial 40 percent. Its members rank the finalists independently under the published review criteria. Public vote totals remain visible, but members are required to disregard them and must not allow the standings to guide or influence their rankings. The board's aggregated ranking is published with every combined result.
Platform staff run operations: they schedule cycles, review nominations for eligibility, maintain voting integrity, and publish results. Staff do not vote, do not sit on the board, and cannot alter a ballot or a computed result. These three roles never mix.
Editorial independence
No advertiser, sponsor, studio, label, management company, or commercial partner has any influence over nominations, voting, editorial rankings, or results. There is no price for a nomination, no price for a win, and no paid placement anywhere in the awards.
The organizer of the iFANN Awards is Rock Digital LLC. The organizer funds and operates the platform but holds no vote and cannot override a computed result. If a rule in this charter conflicts with any commercial interest, the charter wins.
Standing commitments
iFANN commits to publishing its full voting methodology and applying it exactly as published. Any change to the methodology takes effect only from a stated date, is announced on the methodology page, and is never applied retroactively to completed results.
iFANN commits to honest labeling. Results decided entirely by public vote are labeled as such. Editorial participation is claimed only where real ballots from real board members exist. Transparency reporting uses actual platform records, never estimates.
iFANN commits to protecting the people in the process: board members from pressure and harassment through ballot confidentiality, and voters through the integrity systems described in the Voting Integrity documentation.
