Katara

Katara was born in Wolf Cove, the capital of the Southern Water Tribe, to Chief Hakoda and Kya. She grew up in a small, isolated community that had been ravaged by the Fire Nation. Her mother was killed by Fire Nation raiders when Katara was young, a loss that shaped her fierce protective instincts. As the only waterbender in the Southern Tribe, she taught herself the basics from an ancient scroll until she discovered her true potential. Her life changed forever when she and her brother Sokka found a young boy named Aang frozen in an iceberg, setting her on a path to master waterbending and help end the Hundred Year War.[edit]
