Zuko

Zuko was born to Fire Lord Ozai and Lady Ursa in the Fire Nation capital, Caldera City. As a child, he idolized his father and sought his approval. At age 13, he spoke out of turn in a war council, criticizing a general's plan to sacrifice a division of soldiers. Ozai demanded an Agni Kai, a firebending duel to settle the matter. Zuko expected to face the general, but instead was forced to duel his own father. Refusing to fight, Zuko wept and begged for mercy. Ozai, viewing this as weakness, burned Zuko's left face, permanently scarring him. He then banished Zuko, telling him he could return only if he captured the long-lost Avatar.

Zuko's mother Ursa disappeared shortly after the banishment, leaving him with only his uncle Iroh as a companion. Iroh, a retired general and former heir to the throne, chose to accompany Zuko on his quest. Season 2 sees Zuko and Iroh living as refugees in the Earth Kingdom. Zuko briefly finds peace working at a tea shop, but his obsession with honor leads him to betray Iroh to Azula, believing it will restore his position. This act is his lowest point, and he is crowned Fire Lord only to realize he is a puppet of his sister.

In Season 3, Zuko reaches a turning point. After being confronted by the Avatar's spirit, he leaves the Fire Nation, reconciles with Iroh, and learns the true history of the war from his uncle. He joins Team Avatar, teaches Aang firebending, and helps defeat Ozai. In the finale, he becomes Fire Lord, vowing to restore peace and balance to the world.[edit]
