Korra was born in the Southern Water Tribe to Tonraq and Senna. At the age of four, she was revealed as the Avatar when she instinctively bent water, earth, and fire in front of the White Lotus. She spent the next thirteen years training in seclusion under the White Lotus masters, mastering waterbending, earthbending, and firebending. However, her spiritual connection remained weak, and she was unable to learn airbending.
