Trần Anh Hùng

Born in Da Nang, Vietnam on December 23, 1962, Anh Hung Tran is a filmmaker who has carved a distinctive path in contemporary cinema. It also earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film.

His second film, Cyclo (1995), won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, making him one of the few Asian directors to have won both Cannes' top debut prize and Venice's highest honor. The film starred Hong Kong actor Tony Leung.
