Trần Đại Quang

Born on October 12, 1956, in Kim Sơn, Trần Đại Quang was a Vietnamese politician and a former police general. His career culminated in his service as the ninth president of Vietnam, a role he held from 2016 until his passing on September 21, 2018. Before assuming the presidency, Quang spent five years as the Minister of Public Security, from 2011 to 2016. He was nominated for the presidency by his predecessor, Trương Tấn Sang, and subsequently elected by the National Assembly of Vietnam on April 2, 2016.
