    Overview

Ryan Reynolds returns as the Merc with a Mouth in Deadpool & Wolverine, a 2024 superhero comedy that smashes together two of Marvel's most iconic antiheroes. Directed by Shawn Levy, the film finds Wade Wilson struggling with a mundane civilian life, his days as Deadpool seemingly over. But when a threat from the multiverse endangers his homeworld, he reluctantly dons the red suit again to recruit an even more reluctant Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman. Emma Corrin brings a chilling presence as Cassandra Nova, while Matthew Macfadyen's Mr. Paradox adds bureaucratic menace.

The movie boasts a $200 million budget and has grossed over $1.3 billion, making it one of 2024's biggest hits. With its R-rated humor, fourth-wall breaks, and cameo-packed plot, it sits squarely in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's multiverse saga. Critics and audiences alike have praised its wild energy, earning a 7.6/10 rating from thousands of votes. Principal photography took place from May to October 2023 at Pinewood Studios in London and locations across the UK, including the Isle of Skye.

Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, has hung up his red suit for good. He's trying to make a quiet life with Vanessa, working as a used car salesman and throwing himself into domestic bliss. But the truth is, he's bored out of his skull. His attempts to recapture the glory days with a Deadpool-themed party fall flat when his friends, including Peter and Blind Al, show little interest. They've moved on; he hasn't.

Then the Time Variance Authority shows up at his apartment. Agent Mr. Paradox explains that the multiverse is under attack from Cassandra Nova, a powerful being who's systematically erasing timelines. He believes Wade, with his unique abilities and fourth-wall awareness, is the only one who can stop her. Reluctantly, Wade agrees to suit up again. His mission: travel through the multiverse to retrieve a powerful artifact that Nova is after. But he can't do it alone.

He needs Wolverine. Not the Wolverine from the Fox films who died in Logan, but a variant from another timeline. This Logan is a broken man, hardened by loss and wanting nothing to do with Deadpool's antics. Wade has to convince this grizzled loner to join him, and it's not easy. Their journey takes them through bizarre alternate realities, each with its own dangers and weird inhabitants. Along the way, they clash constantly: Wade's relentless jokes against Logan's stoic silence. But as they get closer to Nova's stronghold, they realize the stakes are bigger than either imagined. The fate of countless universes rests on their shoulders, and they'll have to find a way to work together before it's too late.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reignite their chemistry in a film that's bigger, bloodier, and more bonkers than ever before.
