Goku

Goku was born Kakarot on Planet Vegeta, the homeworld of the Saiyan race, a warrior people known for their brutality and love of combat. As a low-class Saiyan infant, he was sent to Earth with a mission to conquer it for the Saiyan Empire. Shortly after his arrival, he was discovered by an elderly martial artist named Grandpa Gohan, who took him in. A severe head injury erased his original programming, leaving him with a gentle, cheerful disposition. Grandpa Gohan raised him in the mountains, teaching him basic martial arts and the importance of kindness. The two lived a simple life until Goku's immense strength and tail became apparent. After Grandpa Gohan's accidental death, Goku lived alone until he met the teenage genius Bulma, who recruited him to help find the seven Dragon Balls, setting him on the path to becoming Earth's greatest hero.[edit]

On Namek, the death of his best friend Krillin triggers his first Super Saiyan transformation, a legendary form that turns the tide against Frieza. In the Cell Saga, Goku chooses to stay dead after Cell's defeat, believing it makes Earth safer. He returns temporarily for the Buu Saga, mastering Super Saiyan 3 and using fusion techniques.
