Devontez Walker was born on June 19, 2001, in Charlotte, North Carolina. His early years in the Charlotte area provided the foundation for a serious athletic career that would eventually lead him to the professional stage. Before achieving national fame, Walker spent several years honing his skills in the competitive environment of college football.

He began his collegiate journey at Kent State University, playing for the Golden Flashes. During his time there, Walker put together one of the finest seasons in Mid-American Conference history. He set a program record with 11 touchdown catches in a single season, a mark that tied for the conference lead and ranked sixth across all of FBS football. This explosive performance caught the attention of scouts and proved his potential at the highest level of college play.

Seeking a larger platform to showcase his talents, Walker transferred to the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. It was during his junior season at UNC that his production reached new heights, solidifying his status as a premier prospect. His pivotal moment arrived when NFL scouts took notice of his consistent ability to find the end zone, culminating in his selection by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2024 draft. The period leading up to the draft marked the transition from a promising college star to a professional athlete ready to compete in the NFL. [edit]
