    Overview

    Origin Story

Robb Stark is the firstborn son of Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell and Lady Catelyn Tully. Raised at Winterfell, the ancestral seat of House Stark, he was trained in combat by Ser Rodrik Cassel and fostered a close bond with his half-brother Jon Snow and his father's ward Theon Greyjoy. Unlike most Starks, Robb inherited his mother's Tully coloring: blue eyes and auburn hair. At the age of fourteen (seventeen in the television adaptation), he became acting Lord of Winterfell when his father traveled south to serve as Hand of the King.

    Personality

Robb embodies the Stark values of honor, justice, and duty, mirroring his father's moral compass. He is serious beyond his years, often forcing himself to act lordly and take responsibility. He cares deeply for his family and is protective of his younger siblings. Despite his youth, he commands respect through his courage and decisiveness, but his inexperience in the political games of Westeros leaves him vulnerable to manipulation. His sense of honor can be rigid, leading to fateful decisions.

    Story Arc

Robb's arc begins with him calling the Stark banners after his father's arrest. Following Eddard's execution, his bannermen proclaim him King in the North, and he leads a successful military campaign against the Lannisters, capturing Jaime Lannister and winning battles like the Whispering Wood and Oxcross. However, his fortunes turn when he breaks a marriage pact with House Frey to wed Jeyne Westerling (Talisa Maegyr in the show). To appease Lord Walder Frey, he arranges for his uncle Edmure Tully to marry a Frey bride. At the Red Wedding, the Freys and Boltons massacre Robb, his mother, his wife, and most of his army, violating guest right. His body is desecrated with Grey Wind's head sewn onto it. Posthumously, his will may have legitimized Jon Snow as his heir.
