Ant-Man and the Wasp

Peyton Reed returns to direct this sequel to 2015's Ant-Man, bringing back Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and introducing Evangeline Lilly's Hope Van Dyne as the Wasp. The film picks up after the events of Captain America: Civil War, with Scott under house arrest for violating the Sokovia Accords. When Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Hope need his help to rescue Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) from the quantum realm, Scott must risk his freedom to join the mission. With a budget of $140 million, the film grossed over $622 million worldwide, blending superhero action with family drama and heist-comedy vibes. Two years after backing Captain America in the airport battle, Scott Lang is under house arrest with an ankle monitor. His parole officer Jimmy Woo checks in regularly, and he's trying to be a good dad to Cassie, who now lives with his ex-wife Maggie and her husband Jim. Scott runs a small security business out of his home and counts down the days until his sentence ends.

Meanwhile, Hank Pym and his daughter Hope have been working in secret on a quantum tunnel. Their goal: rescue Janet, Hank's wife and Hope's mother, who vanished into the Quantum Realm decades ago while disarming a Soviet nuclear missile. They believe they can build a stable bridge to retrieve her, but they're missing one key component: a quantum regulator that Scott unknowingly used during his first Ant-Man adventure. When Scott starts having strange, vivid dreams that feel like quantum echoes from Janet, Hank and Hope realize he's somehow connected to her. They need his help to complete the mission.

Their work is disrupted by Ghost, a mysterious woman who can phase through solid matter. Ghost is actually Ava Starr, whose powers were the result of a failed quantum experiment by her father and his colleague Bill Foster, now a professor. Her unstable molecules cause her constant pain, and she believes Hank's quantum technology can cure her. Hot on their trail too is Sonny Burch, a black-market tech dealer who wants to steal Hank's lab for profit. Scott, Hope, and Hank find themselves caught between Ghost's desperate need and Burch's greed, all while trying to keep Scott's house arrest status secret and rescue Janet before it's too late.[edit]
