About this photo
This is a side-by-side comparison of Bonn, West Germany in 1945 and the present day. The top image shows a black and white scene of heavily bombed-out buildings and rubble, conveying a mood of devastation. The bottom image is a vibrant color photograph of a bustling street scene with people walking, trees lining the sidewalk, and modern storefronts. A notable detail is the consistent presence of a church spire in both images, symbolizing resilience. The text overlay reads "Bonn, West Germany, 1945 vs Now".
