Carrier's honors come from engineering bodies rather than entertainment circles. The National Inventors Hall of Fame induction recognizes the 1902 system and the 1906 dew point patent, and the ASME's Rufus Oldenburger Medal, awarded posthumously, cites his contributions to automatic control. The Carrier corporation, still one of the largest HVAC manufacturers in the world, carries his name on equipment installed in landmark buildings including the U.S. Capitol.
