Tokugawa Ieyasu's greatest accolade is his legacy as the unifier of Japan. He is the only one of the three great unifiers to establish a dynasty that lasted over 250 years. His strategic genius at Sekigahara and his administrative reforms are studied by historians and military leaders worldwide. He was posthumously deified and enshrined at Nikko, an honor reserved for the most revered figures in Japanese history.
