Ramanujan's achievements are extraordinary for a self-taught mathematician who died at 32. He was one of the youngest Fellows of the Royal Society and the first Indian Fellow of Trinity College. His nearly 3,900 results, most proven correct, opened entirely new areas of mathematics. The Ramanujan Journal and National Mathematics Day in India honor his legacy. His lost notebook, rediscovered in 1976, continues to yield new discoveries.
