Prabowo Subianto Djojohadikusumo, born 17 October 1951 in Jakarta, is an Indonesian politician, businessman, and retired military officer who became the eighth president of Indonesia in 2024. Before that, he served as minister of defence under President Joko Widodo from 2019 to 2024. He is the third Indonesian president with a military background, following Suharto and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and at 73, the oldest first-term president in the country's history.
