Nicolae Ceaușescu

Nicolae Ceaușescu's legacy is not one of celebrated achievements but of a self-aggrandizing personality cult. He awarded himself and his wife the title of Hero of Socialist Romania multiple times, and created the Order of the Victory of Socialism to honor his own rule. These self-proclaimed distinctions, along with honorary doctorates from Romanian universities, were tools of propaganda rather than genuine recognition.His only notable international recognition came from other authoritarian regimes, such as North Korea and Cuba, which decorated him for his ideological alignment. These honours, however, were largely ceremonial and did not reflect any positive contribution to humanity.
