Mordechai Eliyahu

Mordechai Eliyahu's greatest achievement was his role as a leading halachic authority and spiritual guide for the Religious Zionist community. He was appointed the youngest dayan in Israel at age 28, and later served as the Sephardic Chief Rabbi. His responsa on contemporary issues like organ donation and agunot have had a lasting impact on Jewish legal practice. His influence on the Hardal movement helped shape the religious and political landscape of Israel. While he did not receive formal awards, his legacy is honored annually on his yahrtzeit, with tributes from across the Jewish world.
