Honours

Nesterov's recognition came from both the imperial and Soviet art establishments. He was one of the few artists to receive honors under both regimes. His election to the Academy of Arts in 1910 was a testament to his standing among his peers. The title of Honorable Master of Art, awarded just months before his death, acknowledged his lifelong contribution to Russian painting.
