Marie Curie's achievements are unparalleled in science. She is the first and only person to win Nobel Prizes in two different sciences, a feat matched by no other woman. She was the first woman to win any Nobel Prize and the first woman professor at the Sorbonne. Her discovery of radium and polonium opened the door to nuclear physics and cancer therapy.
