Carleson's work has earned him the highest honors in mathematics. The Abel Prize, often considered the Nobel of math, was awarded to him in 2006 for his revolutionary contributions. He also received the Wolf Prize and the Steele Prize, cementing his place among the greatest analysts of the twentieth century. His theorems are taught in graduate courses worldwide, and his name is attached to several fundamental concepts, including Carleson measures and the Carleson interpolation theorem.
