Lee Chang-dong's body of work has earned him some of cinema's highest honors. He is one of the few directors to win major prizes at Venice, Cannes, and the Asia Pacific Screen Awards. His film Burning broke ground as the first Korean film to reach the Oscar shortlist for Best Foreign Language Film.
