Julian de Guzman's career is marked by a series of firsts and records. He was the first Canadian to play in La Liga, a milestone that inspired a generation of players. He held Canada's all-time cap record for six years, amassing 89 appearances, and captained the national team for three years. His CONCACAF Gold Cup MVP in 2007 remains one of the highest individual honours ever won by a Canadian player. In 2026, he was inducted into the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of the country's most important footballers.
