Jeff Wall's career is marked by two of the highest honors in contemporary art. The Hasselblad Award, often called the Nobel Prize of photography, came in 2002. The Roswitha Haftmann Prize, one of the world's most lucrative art awards, followed in 2003. In 2006 he was appointed to the Order of Canada, one of the country's highest civilian distinctions. These honors reflect his profound influence on the medium of photography and his standing as a central figure in the Vancouver School.
