Records
Jane Goodall's honors reflect both her scientific breakthroughs and her global advocacy. She was one of the few people to receive the Templeton Prize, the Kyoto Prize, and a national knighthood. In 2025, President Joe Biden awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the United States' highest civilian honor, for her contributions to science and conservation. Her damehood in 2003 recognized a lifetime of service. Goodall was also named a UN Messenger of Peace in 2002, a role she used to amplify climate and wildlife issues on the world stage.
