Infante Juan's legacy is defined by his successful navigation of one of Europe's most turbulent political periods. He managed to preserve the Bourbon dynasty through decades of exile and dictatorship, ultimately ensuring the restoration of the monarchy in Spain. His ability to maintain dignity and unity among fractious factions while living under constant threat of assassination or imprisonment is a testament to his leadership. The transition to democracy in 1975, facilitated by his son, stands as a unique achievement in modern European history.
