    Hugo Duminil-Copin's achievements place him among the elite mathematicians of his generation. Winning the Fields Medal at age 37, the youngest possible for that cycle, he joined a lineage of French probability theorists stretching back to Wendelin Werner and Stanislas Smirnov. His resolution of the connective constant problem, which had stumped experts for decades, is often called a tour de force. The Loève Prize and Fermat Prize further underscore his dominance in probability and statistical physics. He was elected to the French Academy of Sciences in 2023, one of the highest academic honors in France.
