Horst Kasner

Horst Kasner did not accumulate awards or public honours. His life's work was pastoral, carried out quietly in small East German towns. The most significant recognition of his life came indirectly, through his daughter's rise to the highest office in Germany. His decision to move east in 1954, and his commitment to theological education under a repressive regime, are the achievements that historians and biographers continue to examine.
