Hồ Xuân Hương's accolades are unique in that they come entirely from posterity. No award ceremony existed in her time that could capture her genius, yet her work has earned her a place among the greatest poets of Vietnam. The title "Queen of Nôm Poetry," bestowed by Xuân Diệu, is a fitting tribute to her mastery of the vernacular script. Her poetry has been preserved, studied, and celebrated for over two centuries, and her influence on Vietnamese literature is immeasurable. She broke barriers as a woman writing boldly about desire and injustice, and her legacy continues to inspire readers and writers alike.
