Hideaki Anno is one of the most decorated creators in anime history. His series Neon Genesis Evangelion won the Animage Anime Grand Prix three times, and Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water won once. Shin Godzilla swept major Japanese film awards, including the Japan Academy Prize for Best Picture and Best Director. The Tokyo Anime Award Festival gave him a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. His work has been recognized by the Japan Media Arts Festival with two Grand Prizes.
