Gaudencio Rosales

Gaudencio Borbón Rosales, born August 10, 1932, in the Philippines, is a Catholic prelate who served as Archbishop of Manila from 2003 to 2011. Affectionately known as Lolo Dency, he was elevated to cardinal in 2006, becoming the fourth native Filipino to hold the archbishopric. In his final year, he also stepped in as apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Pasig from December 2010 to June 2011, following the resignation of its first bishop, Francisco San Diego. Rosales holds the distinction of being the longest-lived Filipino cardinal, surpassing the record of Cardinal Jose Tomas Sanchez.[edit]
