Esther Rose McGregor entered the world on October 22, 2001, in London, England, into a family deeply immersed in the arts. Her father is the acclaimed Scottish actor Ewan McGregor, known for iconic roles in Trainspotting and the Star Wars prequels, while her mother, Eve Mavrakis, is a Greek fashion designer. She grew up with an older sister named Clara, navigating a childhood where creativity was the default language of the household.

Unlike many children of celebrities who follow traditional educational paths, Esther expressed a strong preference for practical artistic training early on. She attended a conservatory school during her formative years, focusing heavily on theater and performance rather than standard schooling. This dedication led to participation in numerous summer programs in both New York and London, where she honed her craft before stepping onto the professional stage.

Before her rise to international fame, McGregor spent her late teens building a diverse portfolio. She began working professionally in 2018, taking on early roles that helped build her resume.
