Born Emilio Sakraya Moutaoukkil in Berlin, Germany, Sakraya displayed an early aptitude for performance arts despite a childhood marked by mischief. His mother enforced strict disciplinary measures when he caused trouble at school, notably banning him from attending martial arts classes as punishment. This irony proved fortuitous, as martial arts would later become a cornerstone of his physical training and acting repertoire.

He started appearing in film and television productions at the age of nine, accumulating credits that laid the groundwork for his future success. Before achieving international recognition, he honed his craft in the German-speaking market with roles in youth series like Die Pfefferkörner and the critically acclaimed film Tschick. During these formative years, he also developed a passion for music and songwriting, cultivating a dynamic sound that complements his visual presence on screen. [edit]

Sakraya’s career trajectory shifted from regional recognition to global stardom through a series of high-profile projects. After gaining attention in the German youth series Die Pfefferkörner in 2013 and starring in the film Tschick in 2014, he delivered a standout performance as Felix in the historical drama Rhinegold in 2017.

His international breakthrough arrived in 2021 with the Netflix sci-fi series Tribes of Europa, where he played Lennart. The show introduced him to a worldwide audience and highlighted his ability to handle action-heavy roles. He expanded his reach further in 2022 by joining the cast of Warrior Nun as Adrian Apocrypha in Season 2. In October 2026, Sakraya announced his casting as the lead character Xaden Riorson in the Prime Video adaptation of Rebecca Yarros' best-selling novel Fourth Wing, marking a significant leap into top-tier fantasy franchises.
