Emiru

Emiru, born Emily Beth Schunk on January 3, 1998 in Wichita, Kansas, is an American Twitch streamer, cosplayer, and YouTuber. She is best known for her creative cosplay and engaging variety content, having amassed over 2.1 million followers on Twitch and 1.58 million subscribers on YouTube as of mid-2026. She co-owns the gaming organization One True King and is a sponsored creator for Red Bull, with Forbes naming her to their 30 Under 30 Games 2026 list. Her streams blend gaming, cosplay, reactions, and IRL content, appealing to a broad audience of teens and young adults interested in internet culture.

Emiru's cosplay has drawn attention from major studios, and she co-hosts the Steak & Eggs Podcast with other OTK members. She regularly streams titles such as League of Legends, World of Warcraft, Elden Ring, and Super Mario 64, alongside Just Chatting sessions. Her down-to-earth personality and viral TikTok clips have solidified her status as one of the most distinctive creators in the space, with a total social media following of approximately 7 million across platforms.[edit]

Emiru grew up in Wichita, Kansas, in a household of engineers: her father Gregory is German-American and her mother Pin is Chinese. She played piano and violin as a child. Her first exposure to video games came at her grandmother's house, where her uncle kept a Nintendo 64 with Super Smash Bros and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. She and her siblings would knock on his door asking to play, which she later recalled annoyed him.

She discovered League of Legends through an ad on an anime streaming site. She played on a MacBook Air using the trackpad, even in bed and in the bath. At age 15, she created a YouTube channel, and in late 2015, she began streaming on Twitch while still in high school. She graduated in 2016 and decided against college, focusing entirely on building a career in content creation. Her early content was primarily League of Legends gameplay, which helped her build a dedicated audience before her breakthrough.[edit]

Emiru's streaming career took off in 2015 with League of Legends, but her big break came in August 2020 when she joined Cloud9 as a content creator. On January 2, 2022, she joined One True King and later became a co-owner of the organization. This move allowed her to diversify her content beyond League of Legends into variety streaming, cosplay, and IRL streams.

Her cosplay gained industry recognition, with one of her costumes reportedly inspiring the design of the League of Legends champion Gwen. In 2025, she became a sponsored creator for Red Bull and partnered with Marvel for a $100,000 cosplay contest. That December, Forbes named her to their 30 Under 30 Games 2026 list, calling her a Twitch costume play queen and an advertising powerhouse. Her YouTube channel has 1.58 million subscribers with over 1.12 billion total views. She has participated in charity events like Games Done Quick and collaborated with streamers such as Mizkif and Asmongold. She was nominated for Best Variety Streamer at the Streamer Awards in 2024.[edit]

Emiru is known for her creative cosplays and engaging, down-to-earth personality on stream. Her content blends gaming, cosplay, reactions, and IRL streams, appealing primarily to teens and young adults interested in internet culture and cosplay. On TikTok, her clips often go viral, contributing to her broad reach. The media portrays her as a successful businesswoman who turned her cosplay hobby into a lucrative career, with Forbes highlighting her as an advertising powerhouse. She has no official fandom name, but her viewers are often referred to simply as her community. In October 2025, she was allegedly assaulted during a meet-and-greet at TwitchCon, sparking conversations about creator safety at major events.[edit]

Emiru's fame is a study in how a niche passion can scale into a mainstream career. While she hasn't cracked the iFANN Global Top 1,000, the Global Fame Engine has evaluated her but she currently holds no published ranking, her influence is undeniable within gaming and cosplay circles. She's a co-owner of One True King, a Red Bull athlete, and a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, markers of success that resonate far beyond Twitch. Her audience, though lacking a formal fandom name, is a loyal and engaged community that rallies around her streams, cosplay showcases, and IRL adventures. They're known simply as 'Emiru's chat' or 'Emiru viewers,' a reflection of the intimate, direct connection she fosters. This fanbase has propelled her to over 2 million Twitch followers and a combined 7 million across platforms, with TikTok serving as a viral launchpad for her clips. While iFANN's rankings don't yet reflect her, her trajectory suggests it's only a matter of time before she lands a spot.[edit]

Emiru's journey began on a MacBook Air, playing League of Legends with just a trackpad, a humble start for someone who'd later co-own a major esports org. She was a child pianist and violinist, and she's quick to describe herself as 'just a girl who plays video games a bit too much.' Her rise was meteoric: Cloud9 signed her at 22, making her one of the youngest creators to land a major org contract, and by 25 she was co-owning OTK. She created her YouTube channel at 15, and her height is often listed as 5'5" or 5'6", depending on the source. Beyond the stats, her story is marked by pivotal moments. At TwitchCon 2025, she publicly stated she was assaulted and criticized event security, sparking widespread backlash against Twitch. More recently, a legal dispute with fellow streamer Mizkif has unfolded publicly, with Mizkif releasing videos titled 'Emiru Lied, Part 1' amid an ongoing defamation lawsuit, a saga fans are following closely. A tragic note: in 2026, a man connected to her circle drowned at Lake Tahoe, a loss that resonated through her community.[edit]

Emiru's father, Gregory Schunk, is German-American, and her mother, Pin Schunk, is Chinese. Both parents worked as engineers. She has a brother named Nicolas. As of 2026, she lives in Austin, Texas, and does not have children or pets that have been publicly mentioned. She has described her family as supportive of her streaming career.[edit]

Emiru has collaborated with fellow streamers including Mizkif, Asmongold, and Valkyrae. She is co-owner of One True King alongside other members. She has also worked with brands like Red Bull and Marvel. [edit]

Emiru dated fellow streamer Dyrus (Marcus Hill) for several years; the relationship ended around 2020. She was later in a relationship with Mizkif (Matthew Rinaudo), which ended in 2024. In October 2025, during a livestream, Emiru accused Mizkif of sexual assault, emotional abuse, and stalking. Mizkif denied the serious allegations and filed a federal lawsuit against Emiru, Asmongold, and OTK-related entities for reputational harm. As of 2026, Emiru is reportedly single and focused on her career.[edit]

iFANN's editorial research currently estimates Emiru's net worth at $2 million, a figure that reflects her diverse revenue streams. Her income flows from Twitch subscriptions, donations, and ad revenue; YouTube ad revenue from her main channel and her secondary gaming channel; and lucrative sponsorship deals with Red Bull and other brands. Cosplay partnerships, including a $100,000 contest with Marvel, add another layer, as do appearances at conventions. Her ownership stake in One True King, which she acquired in 2022, contributes significantly to her wealth. Forbes has not published a specific figure but has described her as one of the highest-paid streamers on Twitch, highlighting the substantial sums video game makers pay her to stream their titles and wear elaborate costumes at events. Since joining Cloud9 in 2020, her net worth has grown steadily, cementing her status as a savvy businesswoman in the streaming world.[edit]

Emiru was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Games 2026 list in December 2025, recognizing her as a top young creator in the gaming industry. [edit]
