Yūta Okkotsu

Yuta Okkotsu was a normal boy until the tragic death of his childhood friend, Rika Orimoto, in a traffic accident. Rika had promised to marry Yuta when they grew up, and her soul, unable to let go of that vow, became a Vengeful Cursed Spirit. For six years, Rika's curse clung to Yuta, surrounding him with a malevolent aura that attracted other curses. Plagued by guilt and loneliness, Yuta believed he was a monster. His life changed when Satoru Gojo, a Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer, found him and offered him a place at Tokyo Jujutsu High, where he could learn to control Rika's power and find a purpose.[edit]

Yuta is inherently kind, gentle, and deeply empathetic, but his early years were marked by self-loathing and a sense of isolation. He often apologizes and avoids conflict, yet he possesses a fierce desire to protect others, especially those he cares about. In Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Yuta arrives at Jujutsu High as a timid, guilt-ridden boy. He befriends Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, and Panda, who help him train and accept himself. The climax occurs during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, where Suguru Geto attempts to steal Rika's power. Yuta fully embraces his curse, declaring his love for Rika and vowing to live. He defeats Geto and breaks Rika's curse, allowing her soul to pass on, though a fragment of her power remains with him. In the main Jujutsu Kaisen series, Yuta returns as a confident Special Grade Sorcerer. He participates in the Culling Game, fakes the execution of Yuji Itadori to protect him, and plays a key role in the battle against Ryomen Sukuna, using his immense cursed energy and copied techniques to aid the sorcerers.[edit]
