Uryū Ishida

Uryū Ishida enters the narrative as a student at Karakura High School who harbors a deep-seated hatred for Shinigami. His animosity stems from the death of his grandfather, Sōken Ishida, whom Uryū believed was murdered by Soul Reapers. This tragedy drove him to master the ancient arts of the Quincies, an extinct race that once hunted Hollows before the Shinigami took over their duties.

Unlike other Quincies who hide in the shadows, Uryū wears his heritage openly with glasses and a cross-adorned uniform. He confronts Ichigo Kurosaki early on to prove that the Quincy are superior to Soul Reapers.
