Ozai

Ozai was born as the second son of Fire Lord Azulon and Ursa. Unlike his older brother Iroh, who was favored for his wisdom and compassion, Ozai displayed an early aptitude for firebending and a ruthless ambition that aligned with the imperialist ideology of the Fire Nation. His mother Ursa initially favored him due to his natural talent, but the dynamic shifted when Azulon ordered Zuko, Ozai's eldest son, to be killed after he insulted Iroh. Ursa intervened by striking a dark bargain with Azulon, offering her own exile in exchange for sparing Zuko and banishing Iroh instead.

Upon Azulon's death, which occurred under ambiguous circumstances widely believed to involve Ozai's influence, he ascended to the throne as Fire Lord. He immediately intensified the Hundred Year War, aiming to complete his father's vision of global domination.
