    Overview

    Origin Story

Izuku Midoriya was born in Musutafu, Japan, to Inko Midoriya and Hisashi Midoriya. His mother has a Quirk that attracts small objects, and his father, who works abroad in America, breathes fire. Izuku himself was born Quirkless in a world where 80% of the population has superpowers. Despite this, he idolized the number one hero All Might and dreamed of becoming a hero himself.

From a young age, Izuku faced bullying from his childhood friend Katsuki Bakugo, who mocked his ambition and gave him the derogatory nickname Deku. Izuku kept detailed notebooks analyzing heroes and their Quirks, hoping to find a way to become a hero. His life changed when he encountered the Sludge Villain attacking Bakugo. Without hesitation, Izuku ran to help, even though he had no power. All Might witnessed this act of selflessness and, after a series of events, chose Izuku as his successor. All Might passed down his Quirk, One For All, to Izuku, setting him on the path to becoming a true hero.

    Personality

Izuku is shy, socially awkward, and prone to muttering his thoughts aloud when nervous or analyzing a situation. He is deeply empathetic and compassionate, always putting others before himself. His defining trait is his unwavering determination; even when faced with impossible odds, he never gives up. Izuku is a natural analyst, constantly observing and strategizing, which makes him a brilliant tactician in battle. He is also highly self-critical and often blames himself for failures, driving him to train relentlessly. His kindness and willingness to help anyone in need earn him the loyalty and friendship of his classmates.

    Story Arc

Izuku's journey begins as a Quirkless boy who inherits One For All. Initially, he struggles to control the immense power, often breaking his bones when using it. Through the U.A. entrance exam, he learns to channel the power into his finger, but at great cost. During the Sports Festival, he showcases his analytical mind, devising strategies to beat opponents like Hitoshi Shinso and Shoto Todoroki. The Hero Killer Stain arc forces Izuku to confront the darker side of hero society and solidifies his bond with Todoroki and Tenya Iida.

The Hideout Raid arc introduces the true threat of All For One and Tomura Shigaraki, who serves as Izuku's dark mirror. During the Shie Hassaikai arc, Izuku develops Full Cowl at 20% and learns to use Blackwhip, one of the previous users' Quirks. The Paranormal Liberation War arc sees him unlocking multiple additional Quirks: Float, Danger Sense, Smokescreen, and Fa Jin. In the Vigilante Deku arc, Izuku leaves U.A. to protect his friends, becoming a darker, isolated figure. His classmates eventually bring him back, reminding him he is not alone. In the final War arc, Izuku achieves full control of One For All and defeats Shigaraki, becoming the greatest hero. By the series' end, he becomes a teacher at U.A., passing on his knowledge to the next generation.
