Gaara

Gaara was born prematurely on January 19, the youngest child of the Fourth Kazekage, Rasa, and his wife Karura. His father immediately sealed the One-Tailed Shukaku into him, intending Gaara to be Sunagakure's ultimate weapon. Karura died during childbirth, cursing the village with her dying breath. Growing up, Gaara was feared and ostracized by villagers who saw him as a monster. His sand automatically protected him from any threat, often killing people who got too close. The only person he trusted was his uncle Yashamaru, who had been tasked with watching over him. On Gaara's 12th birthday, Yashamaru attempted to assassinate him on Rasa's orders, revealing that Karura never loved Gaara and that his name meant 'a demon that loves only himself.' Gaara begins as a cold, sadistic killer who believes love exists only for himself. He speaks in a monotone, shows no empathy, and kills without hesitation. His traumatic childhood left him with severe insomnia and a belief that his mother cursed him. After Naruto Uzumaki defeats him and shows him understanding, Gaara undergoes a profound transformation. He becomes compassionate, protective, and deeply committed to his village. As Kazekage, he is wise, calm, and diplomatic, often putting others before himself. Gaara debuts as a terrifying antagonist during the Chunnin Exams, where he brutally defeats Rock Lee and kills several opponents. In the Konoha Crush arc, he fights Naruto, who breaks through his isolation by sharing their similar pain as jinchuriki. Naruto's words 'I understand you' change Gaara's path. In Shippuden, he becomes the Fifth Kazekage, but is captured by Akatsuki, who extract Shukaku, killing him. Chiyo revives him at the cost of her own life. Post-resurrection, Gaara loses Shukaku but retains his sand powers. He leads Suna in the Fourth Great Ninja War, fighting alongside the other Kage.
