Arya Stark

Arya Stark was born in 289 AC as the third child and younger daughter of Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell and Lady Catelyn Tully. From an early age, she showed little interest in the ladylike pursuits her mother and septa tried to teach her. She preferred climbing the walls of Winterfell, practicing archery, and listening to tales of warriors and adventurers. Her closest sibling was her half-brother Jon Snow, who understood her unladylike nature. Before Jon left for the Night's Watch, he had a sword forged for her, a slender blade he named Needle, telling her to stick them with the pointy end. This gift became her most treasured possession and the symbol of her defiance against the constraints of her gender.

When her father was appointed Hand of the King, Arya accompanied him to King's Landing, where her outspoken nature clashed with court etiquette. She found an unlikely mentor in Syrio Forel, a Braavosi water dancer who taught her the art of fencing with a wooden sword. Her lessons were cut short when her father was arrested for treason. She travels with the Hound, Sandor Clegane, who becomes a reluctant protector, and later reaches the free city of Braavos to train with the Faceless Men. Under the tutelage of Jaqen H'ghar and the abusive Waif, she learns the arts of disguise, assassination, and poison. However, she ultimately rejects the Faceless Men's demand to abandon her identity, declaring herself Arya Stark of Winterfell. She returns to Westeros, exacting revenge on Walder Frey by killing his sons and feeding them to him before slitting his throat. In the television series, she plays a pivotal role in the Battle of Winterfell, killing the Night King with a Valyrian steel dagger.
