Bikini Kill may not have amassed mainstream awards, but their influence is reflected in critical rankings and honors. Pussy Whipped appears on numerous best-of lists, including Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time and NME's 500 Greatest Albums. The song "Rebel Girl" was named one of the 100 Best Songs of the 20th Century by TIME. In 2024, the band was inducted into the Washington Music Hall of Fame. Kathleen Hanna received an honorary doctorate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2015 for her contributions to feminist art and music.
