🇺🇸 HOW DARE HE?! Dem. Sen. Candidate Roy Cooper, back when he was governor, appointed former Bloods member Kerwin Pittman to his 2020 racial equity criminal justice task force. Pittman was convicted of conspiracy in a 2006 drive-by murder at 19 and served more than a decade. He is 39 now, works in community reform, and says he never hid his past. If prisons and second chances are supposed to produce results, a man who left the gang and came out the other side is the kind of voice a reform panel would want… right?
