About this photo
The image is a screenshot of the Google Maps interface. It displays a map of North America and a small inset of the United Kingdom. The map is in a clean, functional style, typical of early web mapping services. A notable detail is the "BETA" label next to the Google Maps logo, indicating it was a new feature at the time. The bottom of the screen shows copyright information for the map data. ON-SCREEN TEXT: Google Maps BETA, Maps, Local Search, Directions, Search, Help, ©2005 Google - Terms of Use, Map data ©2005 NAVTEQ™, Tele Atlas
