Hanyū's list of achievements is remarkable even by the highest standards of the sport. He is the first men's singles skater to complete the Super Slam, having won every major junior and senior international title. He is also the only singles skater to rank first in the ISU World Standings for five consecutive seasons, and he broke world records 19 times, more than any other singles skater since 2003. His back-to-back Olympic gold medals are a feat only one other man, Dick Button, has accomplished.
