Naoshi Arakawa's Your Lie in April (Japanese: Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso) traces the journey of Kōsei Arima, a piano prodigy who stops playing after his strict mother dies. The story begins when he meets Kaori Miyazono, a free-spirited violinist who drags him back into the world of music. Serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Magazine from April 2011 to February 2015, this romantic drama spans roughly 44 chapters collected in 11 volumes. Arakawa drew inspiration from earlier musical manga like Beck and Nodame Cantabile, crafting a narrative that balances technical musical detail with raw emotional growth. By June 2017, the series had sold over 5 million copies and earned the 37th Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen.
