You Should Be Dancing

Released in May 1976 by RSO Records, You Should Be Dancing stands as a pivotal single that marked the Bee Gees' decisive shift from soft rock ballads to disco dominance. The track features a driving four-on-the-floor beat and lush string arrangements that defined the group's new sonic identity. Stephen Stills contributed significantly to the songwriting and arrangement process, helping refine the groove that would become an anthem for the era. The song spent one week at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and held the top spot on the US Hot Dance Club Play chart for seven weeks.

Although often associated with the title track, the material was originally part of the sessions for the album Children of the World, released later in September 1976. The original release included seven tracks such as If I Can't Have You and Nights on Broadway, which showcased the band's ability to blend falsetto harmonies with rhythmic precision.
