Records

Amano's five Seiun Awards make him one of the most decorated artists in Japanese science fiction. His Bram Stoker Award for Sandman: The Dream Hunters marked a rare crossover between manga-inspired illustration and Western horror literature. The Inkpot Award recognized his lifelong influence on fantasy and pop culture. He was also Artist Guest of Honor at Worldcon 65, a rare distinction for a Japanese artist.
