Lanthimos has received six Academy Award nominations across three films, making him one of the most nominated Greek filmmakers in Oscar history. He is one of the few directors to have films in competition at Cannes, Venice, and Berlin multiple times. His Golden Lion win for Poor Things placed him among an elite group of directors who have won top prizes at both Cannes and Venice.
