Records

Yassine Bounou is one of Africa's most decorated goalkeepers. He is the first Sevilla goalkeeper to win the Zamora Trophy. His 2022 World Cup run, where Morocco became the first African semi-finalist, made him a national hero. He was ranked third in the Ballon d'Or Yashin Trophy and The Best FIFA Goalkeeper awards in both 2022 and 2023. Winning the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco capped his international career.

AwardsBounou won the Zamora Trophy in 2021–22 as La Liga's goalkeeper with the fewest goals conceded. He won the UEFA Europa League twice with Sevilla (2020, 2023) and the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco (2025). He also won the Moroccan League title with Wydad Casablanca in 2010 and was named Moroccan Footballer of the Year in 2017 and 2018.
